Modena-based company creates exclusive bespoke model for Trident successors

Modena, Italy – October 2, 2024 – In September, at the Trident's historic headquarters on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena, Maserati delivered a one-of-a-kind model made exclusively for two very special customers: the MC20 Maserati per Maserati, commissioned by the grandchildren of Ettore Maserati, founder of the Italian brand in 1914 together with his brothers Alfieri and Ernesto. 

Alberto and Ettore Maserati are also brothers who inherited a passion for engines and the pursuit of making dreams a reality from their grandfather. The MC20 Maserati per Maserati stems from Ettore’s grandchildren's desire to leave their own children with a tangible memory of the brand, which has continued to shine as a distinct symbol of luxury and performance in the automotive and motorsport landscape for the past 110 years.

The extraordinary car is a 100% made in Modena creation, the ideal interpretation of everything that makes the Maserati brand renowned, beyond the borders of the Motor Valley: MC20, the Trident's halo car par excellence, an appealing coupé equipped with the 621-hp V6 Nettuno engine.

This tailor-made version is enhanced with distinguished details, elevated luxury finishes, and dedicated customization from the Fuoriserie Personalization Program, which pays homage to Maserati's history and gives this jewel of a car its unique character.

The bespoke MC20 Maserati per Maserati super sports car has a sentimental and symbolic value, serving as a guardian of the DNA and history of an entire family, rich in values that endure over time through the best possible spokesperson for the Trident: a new icon by Maserati. 

It’s Blu Infinito livery – which is one of the most characteristic colors of in the Trident’s production – is complimented by a sporty double stripe in Bianco Pastello. The harmonious contrast between the bright paintwork and the racing-style finishes is tied together with the Trident in Grey Pastel on the tonneau, which ‘encloses’ the roaring Nettuno engine.

The exterior features the carbon fiber package – also seen in the interior – and bespoke specifications including the customized “Maserati per Maserati” and “Maserati Fuoriserie” logos on the rear fender in Bianco Pastello, and the “MC20 Maserati per Maserati” side badges customized with black lettering on a body-color background. Finally, the brake callipers come in Rosso and the 20” wheels in Glossy Black.

The customizations continue in the interior. Alcantara abounds – along with carbon fiber on the MC20 steering wheel in Nero/Nero – and the Nero/Blu New finishes embellish the cabin. The six-way sports seats offer the opportunity for full immersion in a high performance yet luxurious environment; the dashboard and door panels contrast each in Nero/Nero-Blu Backing, while the sides of the seats are in Nero-Blu Backing/Blu New. Macrotwill carbon-fiber accents complete a refined and captivating customization, in pure Maserati style.

The delivery was witnessed by Ettore Maserati's grandchildren and the founder's three great-grandchildren, as well as the wife of Carlo Maserati (Ettore’s son), who passed away in 2018. Luca Delfino, Maserati Global Chief Commercial Officer, oversaw the delivery moment alongside Andrea Bertolini, Maserati Chief Test Driver, and Ermanno Cozza, a historic figure for Maserati. Cozza first passed through the gates of Viale Ciro Menotti in 1951 as an apprentice mechanic at only 18 years old and worked for the Trident brand for 60 years.

The intimate event felt like a true family reunion, and the attendees also included three honorable predecessors. The newcomer was unveiled by the people who had produced the MC20 Maserati per Maserati themselves; alongside them, a Maserati A6, 6C34, and 6CM, just like in a souvenir photo between brothers and sisters.

Today the full-electric range includes also the Grecale Folgore, Maserati’s first full-electric SUV, and the latest addition, GranCabrio Folgore. By 2025, all Maserati models will also be available in a full-electric version, and the entire Maserati range will run on electricity alone by 2028.
