Shanghai, China – September 25, 2024 – Maserati is delighted to announce the appointment of Yu Hanbang as General Manager of Maserati China, effective immediately. He will be in charge of overseeing all commercial activities for the House of the Trident in China.
The automotive market in China is experiencing a period of significant change, with local customers demonstrating a clear preference for exceptional vehicles and innovations. As a key element of Maserati's global strategy, the Chinese market is of considerable importance. With his extensive experience in sales and management in the automotive industry, Hanbang will bring an international perspective and innovative approach – based on years of knowledge gained from having held management positions in numerous regions – to further develop the Trident's activities in China and its expression of Italian luxury around the world.
Prior to this appointment, Hanbang held leadership roles at Genesis China, MG Europe and SAIC Volkswagen, contributing significantly to the strategic growth of these brands through forward-looking leadership.
Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO: “I’m delighted to welcome Yu Hanbang to Maserati. The Chinese market is an essential part of our brand's global strategy. His extensive experience offers an international perspective that looks ahead to the future, combined with unique ideas and business orientation in the automotive industry. With his profound knowledge of the dynamics of the Chinese market, I believe he is the right person to fill this role. Under his leadership, Maserati will continue to grow its presence in China and achieve new goals."
Yu Hanbang, Maserati China General Manager: "It is an honor for me to join the Maserati Family. I deeply respect the House of the Trident and its 110-year history. I am happy to have the opportunity to lead commercial operations in a market like China where Italian luxury – epitomized by Maserati – is highly appreciated.”
Maserati produces a complete range of unique cars, immediately recognizable for their extraordinary personality. Thanks to their style, technology, and innately exclusive character, they delight the most discerning, demanding tastes and have always been a benchmark for the global automotive industry. A tradition of successful cars, each of them redefining what makes an Italian sports car in terms of design, performance, comfort, elegance, and safety, currently available in more than 70 markets internationally. Maserati line-up includes the Grecale, the “everyday exceptional” SUV, the GranTurismo, the iconic Italian grand tourer, and the GranCabrio, the new convertible of the Trident; all models characterized by the use of the highest quality materials and excellent technical solutions. A range equipped with 4-cylinder hybrid powertrains – available for Grecale – and V6 petrol, with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive, embodying the performance DNA of the Trident brand. The top of the range is made up of the MC20 super sports car and the MC20 Cielo spyder, powered by the ground-breaking 100% Maserati Nettuno V6 engine, which incorporates F1-derived technologies into the power unit of a standard production car for the first time. The GranTurismo is available with both the high-performance V6 petrol engine, derived from the Nettuno, and a 100% electric version: the GranTurismo Folgore, the first car in the Modena-based brand’s history to adopt this solution. Today the full-electric range includes also the Grecale Folgore, Maserati’s first full-electric SUV, and the latest addition, GranCabrio Folgore. By 2025, all Maserati models will also be available in a full-electric version, and the entire Maserati range will run on electricity alone by 2028.
