Maserati Grecale makes UK debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

15 June 2022 - Maserati has chosen one of the most prestigious car events to debut the new Maserati Grecale Trofeo in the UK. Launched and revealed in Italy at the end of March, this will be the first time UK customers will get to see the Trident brand’s first compact SUV in the metal, taking on the famous hill climb.

As with other models across the range, the Grecale comes in various trims: GT, Modena and, the sportiest trim, Trofeo, which will be the variation driving up the hill at this year’s Festival of Speed. In line with the brand’s recently announced plans for full electrification across the range, the Grecale will also be the first model to premiere the fully electric Folgore trim in 2023. This also makes the Grecale Folgore the first all-electric SUV in Maserati’s history.

Grecale is all about innovation as proven by the new technical specifications, including the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, the latest infotainment, comfort display and the Heads-up Display.

To top off the driving experience, the extraordinary dynamics with five configurable drive modes – Comfort, GT, Sport, Corsa (Trofeo only) and Off-Road – mean you can shift from the most user-friendly driving in utmost comfort to the powerful emotions of extreme responsiveness.

Spectators at last year’s Festival of Speed will have witnessed the new Maserati Nettuno engine in action when the MC20 super sports car made its dynamic debut up the hill in the Supercar Run. The Grecale shares this engine with the brand halo, continuing to represent a brand-new era for Maserati. Visitors to the festival will be able to see the Grecale in action for the first time at the Batch 6 Hill Climb.

The MC20 will also be taking on the iconic 1.16-mile course throughout the weekend in the Supercar run. 

The MC20 coupe is the Trident brand’s first mid-engine two-seater super sports car boasting a top speed of over 202mph and is the first Maserati with a carbon fibre monocoque, meaning the whole car weighs in at a feather-light 1500kg. Paired with its powerful F1-derived Nettuno engine, this combination ensures an exceptional power to weight ratio, for jaw-dropping acceleration and top speed, achieving 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds.

The all-new Spyder iteration of the coupe, the highly anticipated MC20 Cielo, will also be at the festival for the first time ever in the UK. The MC20 Cielo was launched on 25 May this year in its birthplace, Modena, Italy, so this will be the first opportunity for UK customers to see this car in the metal.

Both MC20 models will be situated in the Supercar Paddock throughout the weekend.
