Diesel Car has crowned the DS 4 as its overall Diesel Car of the Year in its 2022 Diesel Top 50, having also topped the Best Medium Diesel Car category. The judges lauded it for its eye-catching French design, luxurious cabin and impressive driving range, before awarding it both its category win and the highest plaudit of Diesel Car of the Year.
Ian Robertson, Diesel Car Editor, said: “The DS 4 oozes quality and is stylish both inside and out. It nails its brief of appealing to families and youthful buyers alike and, in DS 4 Cross guise, even ticks the trendy crossover box. A long distance driving range makes the diesel edition a real continent crosser with a dose of exuberant French luxury thrown into the mix. It’s our Car of the Year 2022.”
The DS 4 launched in the UK earlier this year with a range of powertrains, including petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, and trim levels to suit drivers’ needs. Embodying French savoir-faire, the DS 4 combines distinctive design, with premium technology and high levels of specification to offer a serene driving experience.
Jules Tilstone, Managing Director DS Automobiles, commented: “The DS 4 was designed to bring a little something different to the UK roads, so to receive this accolade and be recognised for our premium quality and luxury feel as overall Diesel Car of the Year in the Diesel&EcoCar Diesel Top 50 is a real honour.”
The list is compiled by the team of highly respected writers at Diesel&EcoCar magazine, who test the cars in real-world conditions and assess them with the target audience in mind. They consider key factors including driving dynamics, user-friendliness of the infotainment system and drivetrain efficiency, before benchmarking them against the best in their class.
The Diesel Top 50 edition of Diesel&EcoCar is on sale now. For more information in the DS 4 visit www.dsautomobiles.co.uk/ds-models/ds-4.
